"So, whether you eat or drink, or whatever you do, do all to the glory of God." — 1 Corinthians 10:31
Our Core Values and Ethics define the non-negotiable biblical pillars of EBC Youth, in accordance to EBC Hoensbroek. These are not just concepts we talk about; they are the baseline truths that shape our worldview, our decisions, and our character both inside the church and out in the world.
1. Soli Deo Gloria (God’s Glory & Sovereignty Alone) 👑
Everything we do begins and ends with God. We acknowledge that He is the sovereign Creator and Ruler of all things, including our lives.
- Our Purpose: The ultimate goal of our youth group is to honor, praise, and enjoy God. We don't seek personal fame, social status, or entertainment for its own sake; we seek His glory.
- Our Trust: Because God is completely in control, we can rest securely in His good plans for our lives, our generation, and His church.
2. Sola Scriptura (The Authority of God's Word) 📜
The Bible is our anchor. In a culture where truth changes constantly, we stand on the unmovable foundation of Scripture.
- Our Guide: God's Word is completely true, reliable, and sufficient. It is our final authority for what we believe (doctrine) and how we live (ethics).
- Deep Roots: We value studying the Bible deeply, learning sound doctrine, and understanding the historic Christian faith so we are not tossed around by worldly ideas.
3. Gospel-Centered Transformation (Heart over Rules) ❤️
We are not looking for mere behavior modification or outward "good behavior." We look for true heart transformation that comes only through Jesus Christ.
- Justification by Faith: We believe we are saved by grace alone through faith alone in Christ alone. Our identity is secure in Him.
- Daily Sanctification: True faith produces fruit. The Holy Spirit changes our desires, helping us love what God loves and hate what God hates, leading to a life of personal holiness and integrity.
4. Covenant Community & Doctrinal Unity 🫂
We are one body, called to walk together in truth, love, and mutual accountability.
- True Fellowship: We cultivate a healthy, safe, and honest biblical community. We celebrate together, pray for one another, and carry each other's burdens across all age gaps—from juniors to young adults.
- Unity in Truth: We strive for a shared, deep understanding of the Gospel so that we can stand united against false teachings and cultural pressures.
