💡 The Core Principle: We do not just follow a set of rules when we are inside a church building. As followers of Christ, we carry His image everywhere we go.
1. Conduct Within Our Ministry Teams (Serving with Integrity) 🛠️
Because EBC Youth is an organized ministry with specific roles, teams, and functions, how we serve matters just as much as what we do.
- Faithful Stewardship: If you have a role, a title, or a task (whether leading a group, setting up tech, or welcoming people), execute it with excellence and commitment. We serve the Lord, not just men (Colossians 3:23).
- Humility in Leadership: Leadership in God's kingdom is about serving, not status. Older youth and board members lead by lifting others up, listening well, and modeling Christ-like maturity.
- Dependability & Communication: Be honest and proactive. If you cannot fulfill a duty or show up for your team, communicate early so others can step in.
2. Conduct Toward One Another (Our Youth Community) 🫂
We are a multi-age family, spanning from juniors to young adults. Our relationships must reflect the gospel.
- Honoring the Imago Dei: Every single person in this group is made in the image of God. We protect each other's dignity. Bullying, gossip, exclusion, or tearing someone down with words is completely contrary to who we are.
- Bridging the Age Gap: Older youth are called to protect, encourage, and mentor the younger ones. Juniors are called to respect and learn from the older youth. We look out for the person sitting alone.
- Purity & Respect: In our friendships and interactions, we maintain absolute purity, respect, and clear boundaries, ensuring EBC Youth remains a safe and drama-free family for everyone.
3. Conduct Within the Wider Church Body (Loving Our Local Church) ⛪
EBC Youth is not an isolated island, we are a vital organ in the larger body of Emmanuel Baptist Church.
- Generational Respect: We honor our pastors, elders, leaders, and the parent volunteers who support us. We speak of our church leaders with respect and pray for them.
- Active Integration: We don't just stay in our youth bubble. We encourage engagement in the main Sunday corporate worship, church events, and intergenerational fellowship.
- Serving the Whole Body: We look for ways our youth teams can bless the wider church, recognizing that our ultimate loyalty is to the local body of Christ.
4. Conduct in the World (Being Salt & Light) 🌍
The true test of our faith happens out of the church space, when we are in a secular culture.
- Living Missionally: At school, university, or work, your life is the primary Bible your peers will read. We strive for moral integrity, academic diligence, and kindness, pointing people to Jesus.
